The Rib
It's been a while since we have written, but felt the need to begin updating and writing again. Welcome to our new follower, you're a blessing, thanks for adding us to your list of blogs to watch.
This is the first in a small series I'll be writing, it kinda goes with the theme of "The Two shall become one" Book that I will be writing...I kinda like to flush out my ideas a little, but since some folks follow this, I thought perhaps it might bless someone else, so I decided to make it public.
Even wonder why God used the "rib" to fashion Eve? I always did, and still feel as though there could be even more meaning in it than what God has blessed me with, nevertheless, I'd like to share what He has shown me about it.
Let's refresh the story. Genesis chapter 2:21-25, God creates Adam, gives him everything he could need and then states that it isn't good that man should be alone, so He makes him a woman. One would do well to realize first that when God originally made Adam, he was total and complete, lacking nothing. When God put Adam to sleep, He took a piece of Adam (The Rib) and fashioned the woman from it. So, one could say that before, Adam had all of those female qualities within himself before the rib was removed and she was made. Why would we say such a thing? Are we saying that Adam was a girly man? No, what we are stating is that before Eve was made, Adam was complete, needing nothing. God took something out of Adam, and made something that he could recognize to be like him. Again, I'm sure the reader is asking the question again, why?
The reason why we state that Adam was complete and that is important to note because Adam here is a type of Christ. Eve here is a symbol or type for the Bride of Christ (The Church). Adam is like Christ in that he was formed first, then Eve. Such is the Bride of Christ, she was made second, with Christ being the Head.
Ever wonder why when Christ hung on the Cross that blood and water poured out? I used to ask the Lord about it constantly, He finally gave me an answer that I have been chewing on for quite a while! Go back to Adam and Eve in Gen, when you look the word, "Rib" up in the Hebrew, it means "side." When Christ is on the Cross, a Roman soldier comes and pierces His side...why? The answer is so that His Bride could be birthed.
The Blood and Water are a sign of "birth," for we have all come into the world by blood and water from our mother's womb. However, what is it that Christ stated to Nicodemus, (whom was thought to be the holiest man in all of Israel at the time, if anyone was thought to be definitely going to Heaven then, it was Nicodemus!). Jesus tells him in John 3:3-6 that he must be born again, of the water and of the spirit.
We need to note that being born of the water and of the spirit does NOT mean water baptism! :O (gasp), I knowwwww, that's what most people have been taught their entire lives, but we are here to proclaim the truth and the truth is that being immersed in water is NOT what saves folks. Being born "into Christ," is what saves us! We'll discuss this more in upcoming posts, but for now, one will do well to realize that CHRIST is the water that is spoken of here, and He is the spirit. Here are some scriptural references to study that might aid in the understanding of what we have just stated: ( Jn 4:10-11, 7:38, 1 Cor 12:13, Eph 4:4-5), those are just a few to get you started. Feel free to comment if you have any related questions, we'll be glad to answer them more fully.
So...the Bride of Christ could only be birthed through the sacrifice that Christ made for her on Calvary, because we could never have done this for ourselves. There is more to share, but for the sake of the reader, we'll stop for now and leave more bread crumbs for future feedings to follow! Enjoy...
